Overview

This is a two day course for primary school staff who would like to develop an active and democratic learning culture. It has been described as inspirational, superb and good fun with plenty of laughing – classrooms need more of this.

  Course Outline

It is a highly practical course including experience of different ways of developing active learning methods with input from PSHCE, Literacy, Science, Numeracy and Drama specialists. Ways of developing pupil responsibility and engagement are explored and modelled. The importance of physical activity for the health of our school communities and how teachers can contribute are looked at too. Participants come away with a wealth of strategies and free resources to use in their schools.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the two days, participants will have experienced and had opportunities to discuss the active and democratic learning culture and develop the confidence to take this back into the classroom.
