Let's leave it till later
Secondary SRE Training Course

Target Audience
The course is open to PSHE Co-ordinators, PSHE teachers and anyone who works with young people on sexual health issues.

Overview
‘Delay’ is a secondary training course in SRE, adapting materials from Jo Adams’ ‘Let’s leave it till later’ manual.

The ‘Delay’ curriculum forms a 6 week course for Key Stage 4 pupils, covering:
 Self esteem
 Rights
 Friendship
 Relationships
Pressure
 Sensuality

The course is designed to engage young people in activities and dialogue which will encourage them to examine their needs, views and understanding of meaningful relationships, and encourage them to delay early sex.

Evidence suggests that young people often regret early sexual experiences. This course should enable young people to analyse their own thoughts and feelings so that they can form meaningful relationships in the future.

Reflection should empower young people to make relevant choices regarding sexual relationships, regardless of previous experience.

Other Details
The secondary training course will run twice – the first opportunity will be on Friday 14th September 2007 and the next on Friday 8th February 2008, both at Cromford Mill.

At the end of the course you will receive the pack of lessons.
