PSHE Curriculum Development


Target Audience
Anyone involved in the delivery, co-ordination or support of PSHE in schools.

Overview
There will be opportunities to reflect on how PSHE is delivered in your school and to share good practice.

Examples of resources; active learning methods; policy development and links to Every Child Matters will be investigated.  Participants will explore some methods of assessment and what is meant by assessment in PSHE.

Opportunity will be given to apply the End of Key Stage statements to your schools scheme of work.

 What is assessment in PSHE?
 Methods of assessment.
 Links to Every Child Matters and OFSTED.
 Links to NHSS.
 Reflection of the day.

Learning Outcome
To reflect on current PSHE practice and enhance understanding of the teaching and learning methodologies underlying delivery of effective PSHE.

Participants can….
1. Demonstrate knowledge of the QCA PSHE framework and the end of key stage statements.
2. Describe, after completing the audit, which areas of the PSHE curriculum need developing in their school.
3. Identify different types of active learning methods.
4. Identify different types of assessment tools for use in PSHE.
5. Understand the links between Every Child Matters and PSHE.
6. Understand what NHSS is and how it can be achieved.
