Sex and Relationships Education in Infant Schools: Policy Development and Consultation

Target Audience
Key Stage 1 PSHE Co-ordinators, Governors and Head teachers

Overview
What is SRE at KS1?  All infant schools are required to have an SRE policy, but this doesn’t mean ‘Sex lessons for 7 year olds’.  This course examines how SRE at infant school lays the foundations for healthy friendships and relationships, and a healthy attitude towards ourselves, our bodies and each other.

We will look at what is ‘age appropriate’ SRE, issues of policy development, and gaining parents’ confidence in the school programme through a range of consultation methods.
